Blog Entry #2

I think it means that if you're going to try to persuade someone, you are going to have to have some reason and logic. Then, that will lead you through some well-reasoned arguments to a conclusion, but not much is going to be done. Something that can relate is the world hunger issue. People will have good points and plans to try to stop world hunger but not much is done anyways.

  1. I agree that you do need reason and logic. But I think you also need cold hard facts to persuade somebody.

  2. I also agree with what you're saying about reason and logic. But I don't think you can have a powerful argument strictly with those two things. I strongly think that you need to make a connection with the person that you are trying to persuade. Throwing in facts and statistics, I believe, will also help you persuade.

  3. I think we are all on the same page when it comes to reason and logic, but I feel like we are kind of selling it short. You say that it all just reason and logic, and that may be true, but I feel like we should give it more credit than we currently are.
